New Forest Green and Purple Asparagus💚💜
We've received some stunning green and purple asparagus from our friends at New Forest Fruit Company.
🚜 Sandy and his team have been developing and adapting methods of growing the perfect asparagus. They have managed to cultivate their asparagus crops without using any chemicals or artificial heating and only biological control.
🌱 They grow early asparagus under the tunnels using recycled coir (coconut husk). By enhancing coir with the right amount of bacteria & fungi, the plants benefit from compostable matter and healthy soil, giving them all the nutrients they need for optimum health.
💜 What makes purple asparagus stand out from their green and white cousins is its abundance of anthocyanins, a pigment that gives them the purple hue. It tends to lose its colour when cooked and has a sweeter taste than green asparagus.

Did you know our asparagus is RESIDUE FREE !
That’s because we are only using biological control on our plants .
We grow our early asparagus under the tunnels using recycled coir.
By enhancing coir with right amounts of bacteria & fungi we are creating perfect condition to grow healthy plants. In addition to that we only do weeding manually.
So not only our asparagus is super tasty but also super healthy.
